Brad Levin created Baskets for Bama to honor his grandmother Iris "Bama" Levine. Bama was treated at Duke University, a world-renowned facility for their efforts in fighting Brain Cancer. Bama, Brad, and the rest of the family experienced an extremely rough two years after Bama was diagnosed with an inoperable Brain Tumor. During this tough time, Brad realized no family should have to go through what his family was experiencing. He decided to take a stand against Brain Cancer and do everything in his power to help find a cure for the disease. Brad created Baskets for Bama, and with help and enormous support from his family, the fundraiser raised $22,000 for Brain Cancer in its first year. Brad and his family decided the event would be a yearly occurance. They ran the event the next year, increasing Baskets for Bama's revenue to over $24,000. In 2014 Baskets for Bama was the 2nd ranked Team in Angels Among Us raising over $79,000!
Brad and his mother have been very involved with Duke's Brain Cancer center. They now sit on Duke's Brain Cancer reserch Board of Advisors.
